Before sleeping, unplug your phone by clicking on the phone plug, since a drunk guy might call at night and ask you to drive him home. The more fatigued you are, the longer you sleep. Only do that outside, in the toilet, or in the shower room, because pissing inside your house will create permanent puddles of pure, gross piss.įatigue increases throughout the day. Stress can be lowered by spamming the swear button N, smoking cigarettes, and being in the sauna, though the latter one is not recommended as it is slow and a fire hazard. Chips also do the job well, however, they increase thirst. Hunger is lowered by eating any food, though the most efficient food is a pack of sausages. When you're not home, you can drink beer (but if you drink too much you will get drunk) or milk. Thirst can be lowered by opening the tap with LMB and drinking water by leaning into it using the Q key. It shows whether you chose the permadeath option when starting the game, the day of the week, your money, and, most importantly, your needs. You may notice the player attributes panel in the top left corner of your screen. ![]() ![]() However, you need to press LMB to open doors and push buttons inside the car. Most actions, like eating food, are activated by using so, since LMB will usually just pick the item up. Take a look at the settings menu and change the controls if you want to.īy default, the F key is your best friend in this game. This game's control scheme might be confusing. This game is notoriously difficult and frustrating, but you surely can get the hang of it. If you bought the game without watching it, then you might regret doing so. 4.12 The car is very sluggish to drive/doesn't pick up any speed and stallsīefore you start playing the game, you should watch other people play it first.4.11 The car won't move, though the wheels are spinning.4.10 The car keeps veering to the left/right on its own.4.9 White particles are coming out of the engine bay and making the windshield wet.4.8 White smoke is coming out of the engine bay.4.7 A circular red light appears on the dashboard.4.6 A rectangular red light appears on the dashboard.4.4 The car makes a weird sound after it starts.4.3 The car starts, but doesn't stay turned on.4.2 The car makes a cranking noise, but doesn't start.4.1 The car doesn't make any sound and doesn't start. And since I could never learn to handle Finland in DiRT Rally, that’s a good thing for me. Michigan reminds me of Finland from DiRT Rally, except it’s easier. Michigan is rarely too far up and down, and is a great high speed track for the most part. Australia also gets really tricky that way as well. There’s so many uphill and downhill portions that really trip me up in Greece. Yeah, Australia really gives me a difficult time too. All I ask is that in their algorithm, they make it so there can be no exact duplicates on the same run. ![]() That’s why even in tracks that are less distinctive in DiRT Rally like Finland and Sweden, you still don’t see an exact repetition of a turn. ![]() But on the same track, on that same run? The odds of that happening in real life, where you see the same thing again, are just soooo low. Now, seeing that turn on a different track is okay by me. The only bone I have to pick with this game is when you’re on a track, and on the same track, you see an exact duplicate of a turn you just saw on the same track. They all drive really differently, and it takes some getting used to. An easy time in a Subaru NR4, but then a hard time in Lancia Delta S4. For example, I can have a really easy time in a Ford Fiesta, but a really tough time in a Subaru 1995. And so I’m pretty far removed from that stuff now.Īs for difficulty, it can vary. After that, games like Forza and such made it easier and easier to tune and not dig into the nitty gritty. The last game in which I dug deep into the tuning system was Sega GT for the Dreamcast, I think. I loved using his stuff.īut until they do that with DiRT 4, I doubt I’ll touch the tuning stuff. I found this one guy from Sweden who had really good tuning for nearly every surface in every car. In DiRT Rally I only messed with tuning when they opened it up to Steam Workshop, so I could download other people’s tunings, and use those. I think I’m on the “Champion” pre-set, which was the hardest preset, with no messing with the individual settings.Īs far as tuning. I’ll have to go check my settings when I get home today Rob.
